Woman harmed during robbery in Norfolk County

Norfolk County OPP are investigating a robbery in which a woman was injured in Simcoe.

On Saturday at 3:36 a.m. OPP and Norfolk County paramedics responded to a theft report on Robinson Street, west of Norfolk Street South.

A woman reported she was injured after being approached by an unknown man who demanded money from her while she was walking in the area.

OPP investigation so far has determined that the man allegedly injured her with an edged weapon before running away from the scene. She then ran to her home where she called 9-1-1.

She was transported to a local area hospital where she was treated and has since been released.

OPP searched the area but did not find the man.

The man is described as white, 6' tall, with a deep-toned voice, wearing shorts and a hoodie-style sweatshirt.

Members of the Norfolk County OPP Crime Unit continue to investigate and is asking anyone who may have noticed any suspicious persons or who may have any information regarding this incident to contact them at 1- 888 - 310 - 1122.
