Provincial police are describing a two-vehicle crash that sent six people to hospital, east of Norwich as "violent."
Norfolk OPP were called to Brantford Road and Burford Delhi Townline Road around 9 p.m. Tuesday after two minivans collided. One van was northbound on Brantford Road when it collided in the intersection with a van that was westbound on Burford Delhi Townline Road. The force of the crash sent one of the vehicles into a nearby cornfield.
The occupants of one of the vans, a 26-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, both from Norfolk County, were rushed to hospital with life-threatening and life-altering injuries.
The driver of the other van, a 29-year-old man and his three children, a one-year-old boy, a three-year-old boy, and a four-year-old girl, were taken to hospital as a precaution.
"Burford Delhi Townline Road is controlled by a stop sign so that is going to play into this investigation," said Constable Ed Sanchuk.
The intersection was closed for several hours while police investigated and debris was cleared from the roadway. It has since been reopened.
