A Thamesford resident was threatened with a gun after confronting people who were dumping garbage on a dead-end street Wednesday night.
Two vehicles were parked on 21st Line around 6:15 p.m. when the resident saw one of the drivers start to throw garbage from the vehicle onto the ground. The resident drove over to the vehicles, asked that the trash be picked up, and was threatened with a gun as a result.
The resident left unharmed and called Oxford OPP.
The vehicles attempted to take off from the area but were stopped by a train. When police got to the scene, both vehicles had been abandoned in a nearby ditch and two men and a woman were seen running from the area.
The incident prompted police to issue a warning to the public through Twitter to avoid the area around 21st Line.
The investigation has so far revealed the vehicles had previously been reported stolen and had a number of stolen items and a set of stolen licence plates inside.
One of the men is described as having numerous tattoos on his neck, chest, and arms and was wearing a red muscle basketball t-shirt. The other man is said to be Caucasian, thin, and was wearing white or tanned clothing.
The woman is described as being thin with dark hair.
