Fanshawe College graduates are finding jobs quicker than their counterparts from other Ontario colleges, according to a new survey.
Results of the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) survey puts the London-based college as number one for graduate employment, with 90.3 per cent of its graduates finding work within six months. That exceeds the provincial average of Ontario's 24 colleges by more than four percentage points.
“We are very proud of this year’s survey results,” Fanshawe President Peter Devlin said in a statement. “They are a testament to the hard work of our faculty and staff who prepare our students for careers upon graduation.”
Of the Fanshawe graduates surveyed six months after leaving the post secondary institution, 81.2 per cent reported being pleased with their college education. Meanwhile, 85.8 per cent of employers stated they were satisfied with the skills and contributions of Fanshawe alumni working for them.
Fanshawe's overall graduation rate sits two percentage points above the provincial average at 69.5 percent, with the graduation rate of three and four-year programs ranked number one among Ontario's largest colleges. Student satisfaction among Fanshawe students also surpassed the provincial average, at 77.8 per cent. That is 2.1 percentage points higher than the average of 75.7 percent.
“While these results show Fanshawe is a leader among large colleges in Ontario, we continue to look for ways to improve our services to students and alumni and providing leading-edge programming to meet the needs of our employers,” added Devlin.
