More than two months after a woman was sexually assaulted in Springbank Park, a suspect has been arrested and charged.
Around 7 p.m. on Friday, July 26, a woman was walking at the Civic Gardens near Springbank Drive and Wonderland Road when a man on a bicycle approached her. According to police, he sexually assaulted her and then took off, heading west through Springbank Park.
In early August, police released a composite sketch of a suspect.
On Tuesday, police announced that an arrest has been made.
Abby Mohamed Abdi, 40, of London is charged with sexual assault.
