Brawl sends five to hospital

Five people were taken to hospital after a brawl near two downtown London high schools.

Police were called to the area of Dundas Street and Maitland Street, in the area near H.B. Beal Secondary School and Catholic Central Secondary School, around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday for what police are calling a "large disturbance" involving several people. When officers arrived, they found a young person suffering from serious, but non-life threatening injuries. Two other male youths and two men were also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

"The investigation is in its early stages and is ongoing at this time," police said in a news release issued Tuesday. "A number of people were present at the time of the incident, and investigators are looking for any witnesses to come forward with information."
