Cops spot stolen vehicle towing a stolen truck

One person has been arrested, while a second remains on the run after police spotted a stolen vehicle towing another outside of a Woodstock motel.

The GMC Canyon pickup truck was pulling a Dodge Ram pickup in the area of the Westmount Motel on Beachville Road around 2 p.m. last Friday. Woodstock police determined the two vehicles were reported stolen and tried to pull them over.

The Canyon did not stop and instead accelerated with such force it broke free from the Ram and was last seen speeding north Ingersoll Road.

The driver of the Ram, which was left inoperable, hopped out of the truck and took off. He was arrested after a short chase by police.

A 44-year-old Woodstock man is charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Police are still trying to track down the other driver and the stolen 2007 white GMC Canyon.

The investigation is ongoing.
