Police investigating shooting

London police are looking for answers after a shooting in the city.

According to police, they got a call from hospital staff around 11:40 p.m. Wednesday after a man showed up at the hospital seeking treatment for a gunshot wound. The man was treated for a serious, but non-life threatening injury and left the hospital on his own.

"While the location of the shooting is unknown at this time, it is believed to have taken place in the downtown area," police said in a news release issued Friday.

Police said the shooting is being investigated by the Major Crime Section. Investigators do not believe this was a random incident.
