London man accused of luring, sexually assaulting young girl

A 26-year-old London man accused of carrying on a sexual relationship with a young girl he met at church is now facing more than a dozen charges.

According to London police, the pair met through the New Life Pentecostal Church on Falcon Street in August 2018 and began talking through text, apps, and Instagram. The relationship progressed with the pair exchanging nude photos of each other and meeting in person a number of times, police said. An investigation into the allegations began last week.

Officers with the Internet Child Exploitation Unit arrested a man in connection with the case at a south-end home last Friday.

Moises Jonathan Aragon Godinez, 26, of London has been charged with a total of 16 offences including luring a person under the age of 16, sexual assault of a person under the age of 16, and possession of child pornography. He is scheduled to appear in London court on March 23.

Police believe there may be more victims in relation to this case and are asking anyone with information to call them at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
