A 27-year-old man has been charged in connection with an armed robbery at a business in downtown Woodstock.
A man walked into Gizmo Direct around 12:50 p.m. on Wednesday, pocketed a cell phone and attempted to leave without paying. When the store owner tried to stop the man, he pulled a knife.
The man then took off running north on Wellington Street.
No one was hurt in the robbery.
Nearby schools were notified about the incident as a precaution while police searched the area.
Police said on Thursday, a 27-year-old Woodstock man had been arrested in relation to the robbery. He is charged with robbery, assault with a weapon, and failure to comply with a probation order.
