Charges laid in relation to south end stabbing

London police have arrested a man following a stabbing in the city's south end.

A 29-year-old male says he heard a knock on his door just before 8 p.m. Thursday. The victim answered the door to an unknown man who attempted to enter the home on Ladybrook Crescent. When the victim tried to stop him, he was stabbed and the suspect fled.

First responders were called and the victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.  The suspect was identified and later went to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries. London police say an officer sustained minor injuries after he was assaulted by the suspect when they tried to arrest him.

Daniel Timothy Lefurgey, 31, has been charged with aggravated assault, assaulting a peace officer, and uttering threats of death or bodily harm.

Lefurgey appeared in court on Friday in relation to the charges. Anyone with information is asked to call the London Police Service at 519-6615670 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
