Arrest made in clothing store robbery

An arrest has been made in connection with a robbery at a Richmond Row clothing store.

According to London police, a woman knocked on the locked door of a clothing store at 620 Richmond St. on the afternoon of Friday, March 27. Thinking the woman needed help, the owner of the store unlocked the door and the woman forced her way inside. Police say she then grabbed some clothing and tried to hide it in her purse.

"The owner intervened and asked for the property to be returned, at which time she was assaulted by the female suspect," police said. "A co-worker attempted to provide assistance, but she too was assaulted by the unidentified woman."

Both the owner and the employee suffered minor injuries.

Police announced Wednesday that a suspect had been arrested. A 30-year-old London woman is charged with robbery.
