A 38-year-old woman is facing charges after employees at a St. Thomas grocery store were threatened with a knife while trying to stop a suspected shoplifter.
Staff at the downtown store confronted a woman they believed had shoplifted around 4 p.m. last Thursday. The woman pulled out a pocket knife and began threatening the workers before she was able to take off.
St. Thomas police were called and arrested a suspect at a nearby home.
A 38-year-old St. Thomas woman is now charged with robbery with a weapon, assault with a weapon, breaching probation and failure to comply with a recognizance.
