Like many events across the province, London's pop culture convention has been forced to postpone due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Organizers of the Forest City ComiCon announced on Monday that the event on Saturday, June 27, 2020, has been postponed until next year. The convention will now be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Centennial Hall.
"Although it had originally been our hope to run the event as scheduled this summer, it has become increasingly evident that doing so would not be in the best interests of our fans, exhibitor partners, or the wider community," said John Houghton, a board member with Forest City ComiCon. "We appreciate the continued support of our fans, exhibitors, sponsor partners, and volunteers and look forward to seeing them at the event in 2021."
Stefan Kapicic, best known as Colossus from the Deadpool films, was scheduled to appear as the featured guest of the event. Fortunately, he has already agreed to appear at next year's convention instead.
This year would have marked the seventh-annual event for the all-ages convention that features artists, exhibitors, cosplay, vendors, panels, presentations, board games, video game tournaments, and more.
