An attempted car thief was hurt while trying to steal a pizza delivery driver's ride in east London.
The delivery driver had left the vehicle unlocked and running in the parking lot of the pizza parlour at 415 Hamilton Road, near Rectory Street around 8 p.m. on Tuesday. A man hopped into the front seat and was attempting to take off with the vehicle when the driver returned.
The pair struggled briefly before the man ran from the scene.
London police were called and made an arrest after a brief foot chase and struggle with a suspect.
The man was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries he received during his fight with the delivery driver, police said.
A 27-year-old London man is charged with attempt to commit a dual procedure offence and obstructing a peace officer.
