Police in St. Thomas seized $30,000 worth of cocaine, heroin, and hydromorphone as part of a drug trafficking investigation at a local motel.
Officers with the street crimes unit searched the motel on Thursday afternoon, finding 225 grams of cocaine and an undisclosed quantity of heroin, crack cocaine, along with dilauded and hydromorphone tablets. Approximately $18,000 cash was also seized by police.
The motel raid followed months of investigation by police into drug trafficking in the city. Police did not release the name of the motel.
A 30-year-old St. Thomas woman and a 27-year-old London man have been arrested in relation to the case. They are now charged with five counts each of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
