Provincial police are investigating after a Norfolk County resident found a severed pig's head and other parts of the animal in a ditch.
The resident was walking along Fairground Road in Houghton when they made the gruesome discovery just before 12:15 p.m. last Sunday.
It is not clear when the remains were dumped in the ditch.
Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to call them at 1-888-310-1122 and are reminding those who witnesses suspicious activity to call officers immediately.
