Downtown fire deemed suspicious

An early morning fire in downtown London over the weekend has been deemed suspicious.

Firefighters were called to a home on Dufferin Avenue between Wellington and Colborne streets around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday. Crews were able to quickly extinguish the blaze and no one was hurt. A damage estimate was not provided.

The exact cause of the fire has not been released, but it has been determined to be suspicious in nature, London police said on Tuesday.

The investigation has been turned over to the street crime unit.
