Two city-owned golf courses to open Saturday

Now that the province is allowing golf courses to re-open, the City of London is wasting no time in allowing golfers to play at two city-owned courses.

The city announced Friday that the Fanshawe Golf Course and the Thames Valley Golf Course will open on Saturday. The River Road Golf Course will stay closed until further notice.

" In a continued effort to stop the spread of COVID-19, physical distancing measures will be in place at all golf courses," the city said in a statement released Friday. "Additionally, the city has implemented new COVID-19 policies and procedures at our golf courses. These can be found online at london.ca/golf."

A Marshal will be at both golf courses to make sure physical distancing measures are being adhered to. They will also be able to answer any questions golfers might have.

In addition to golf courses, the city says off-leash dog parks will open on Tuesday. Work is underway to re-open tennis and pickleball courts in London. But for now, they will remain closed.
