Woodstock police are investigating two separate hit-and-runs over the long weekend that left two people hurt.
The first incident happened in the residential area of Anzio Road and Alberni Street around 7:45 p.m. on Friday. A black pickup truck was driving at a "high rate of speed" when it hit a pedestrian and then took off, police said.
The pedestrian was treated for minor injuries.
The truck is described as a black Chevy Silverado with a lift kit, larger tires, and a black topper.
The second hit-and-run happened just over 24 hours later when a motorist tried to confront the driver of a newer model four-door BMW sedan about that individual's actions behind the wheel. The two vehicles came to a stop just east of the intersection of Mill Street and Juliana Drive around 8:45 p.m. on Saturday. According to police, the SUV driver got out of his vehicle and began to approach the BMW in an attempt to speak with the driver. The BMW accelerated and struck the SUV driver before taking off from the area.
The BMW, which has black rims and dark-tinted windows, was last seen heading north on Mill Street.
The SUV driver was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries to his right leg.
Police are looking for the drivers of the vehicles involved in both incidents. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 519-537-2323 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800- 222-TIPS (8477).
