Just one new case of COVID-19 in London-Middlesex

The Middlesex London Health Unit is reporting another small increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in the area.

Health officials reported one new case on Thursday. That brings the total since the pandemic began to 627. Of those, 508 people have recovered.

Once again, no deaths related to the coronavirus were reported in London or Middlesex County. The death toll remains at 57.

The outbreak at Westmount Gardens remains the only one long term care facilities or retirement homes in London and Middlesex County. In total, there have been 178 cases of COVID-19 in area long term care facilities and retirement homes in London and Middlesex County. Of those, 106 have been residents while 72 have been staff.

Provincially, health officials reported 302 new cases of COVID-19 in Ontario over the past two days. Figures from June 30 were not reported on Wednesday because of Canada Day, so officials delivered a two-day report on Thursday. Another 386 cases were resolved, so there are 84 fewer active cases in the province. Another 8 deaths have been reported since Tuesday, bringing Ontario's death toll to 2,680
