Elderly London man killed in motorcycle crash on Hwy. 401

An 82-year-old London man is dead following a motorcycle crash on Highway 401 in Mississauga.

The single-vehicle crash happened in the eastbound lanes at Hurontario just after 3 p.m. on Sunday.

According to OPP, the motorcyclist was trying to go between the express lane and the collectors when he hit a barrier and was thrown from the bike.

An 82-year-old man from London was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No name has been released.

All eastbound lanes of the highway between Mavis and Hurontario were closed while police investigated the collision. The highway has since been reopened.
