What are believed to be human remains were found in a wooded area in London's southeast-end over the weekend.
London police were called to the area near Jacqueline and Ada streets after the grim discovery was made on Sunday. The area has been cordoned off and officers are searching for evidence and canvassing for witnesses.
Police are expected to remain on scene throughout the day on Monday and have asked the public to avoid the area.
No details about the remains including whether they are that of a man or a woman or how long they have been in the area have been released. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday. Additional information is expected to be released following that.
Members of the police major crime section and the Office of the Chief Coroner continue to investigate.
