Criminal harassment charges laid after women followed in Woodstock

A Woodstock man is accused of following three women and pointing a gun at two of them in two separate incidents.

The first happened as a woman drove home from work around 10:45 p.m. on Friday. The woman noticed a black Jeep Patriot following her. Once she arrived home the Jeep driver, who was wearing a face covering and holding an unknown object, got out of his vehicle. The woman quickly went inside her home. The man stayed on the property for a little while before leaving, Woodstock police said.

Roughly an hour later, two women were walking up a driveway after leaving a Dundas Street business when they noticed a man following them. The man was wearing a face covering and pointing a weapon at them. One of the women yelled at the man, who then got into a black Jeep Patriot and drove away.

Police located a suspect in connection with the two incidents at a Norwich Avenue business around 3:15 a.m. on Saturday.

Dale Cormier, 30 of Woodstock is charged with criminal harassment, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, trespassing at night, disguise with intent, and pointing a firearm.
