A 16-year-old Woodstock girl was seriously injured after hopping a neighbour's fence and landing on an arrow head garden spike.
The teen was playing a game involving a small ball with a few friends at a Lansdowne Avenue home around 10:30 p.m. Saturday when the ball ended up in the neighbour's yard. In an effort to get the ball back, the girl jumped over the fence and was impaled by the garden spike, according to Woodstock police.
Emergency crews were called and firefighters were able to cut the spike before paramedics took the teen to hospital.
Fortunately, the spike missed all of the girl's vital organs and she has since been released from hospital.
