One arrested, two sought in Marconi Blvd. robbery

A man had to be taken to hospital after a violent robbery in a parking lot on Marconi Boulevard.

According to London police, the man and a woman had left an establishment on York Street near Adelaide Street with three other men in a burgundy Dodge Caravan around 1 a.m. on Wednesday.

Roughly two hours later, the van pulled into the parking lot on Marconi where the male victim got out and was pushed to the ground and assaulted by three men. Cash, a cell phone, and other property was then taken from the man. The woman was forcibly removed from the van and robbed before the trio took off.

Police were called and arrived to find the male victim unconscious. He was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

One suspect was arrested later that same day.

A 27-year-old London man is charged with counts of robbery in connection with the incident.

Police continue to search for two other suspects. The first is described as Caucasian and is believed to be between 20-25 years old. The second suspect is said to be Black, between the ages of 20 and 30.
