Knife-wielding man arrested after vehicle damaged

Charges have been laid after a man armed with a knife allegedly stood in the middle of a St. Thomas street damaging vehicles.

A driver was on Woodworth Avenue around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday when a man in the street threw an unknown object at the vehicle causing damage to the hood. St. Thomas police were called and when officers arrived on scene they spotted a man armed with a knife approaching another vehicle.

Police spoke with the man who dropped the knife and was arrested without incident.

He is charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, mischief, possession of a controlled substance, possession of counterfeit money, and breach of release.
