London Hydro is making it easier for customers to choose between time-of-use (TOU) or tiered billing.
The utility has launched a new price plan comparison tool that will allow customers to see a personalized comparison between the two billing options, effectively showing customers which option is the cheapest for their home or business.
As the tool uses each customers’ historical usage to compare, they don't have to enter any numbers into the system.

"Customers may benefit from one plan over the other depending on how much electricity they use and when they use it," London Hydro said in a statement. "With TOU, the price you pay depends on when you use electricity. With tiered prices, you can use a certain amount of electricity each month at a lower price and once that limit is exceeded, a higher price applies."
The Ontario Energy Board will begin allowing residential and small business customers to use either option as of November 1.
To compare the options or switch to tiered pricing go to londonhydro.com.
Customers will automatically remain on time-of-use billing unless they make the switch online through the MyLondonHydro portal.
