One person had to be assessed for smoke inhalation after a fire broke out at a multi-unit home in London's SoHo neighbourhood.
The London Fire Department first reported the blaze at 200 Maitland St. shortly after 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
Fire officials said heavy smoke and flames could be seen upon arrival and firefighters had to enter the home to control the blaze.
After the home was evacuated, one occupant was treated by paramedics at the scene for smoke inhalation.
Damage is pegged at $500,000, according to an early estimate.
"The fire was deemed to be suspicious in nature and the investigation was assigned to members of the LPS Street Crime Unit, in conjunction with the Office of the Fire Marshal," London police said in a news release on Wednesday morning.
