A traffic stop aimed at arresting a wanted man ended with Woodstock police seizing more than $32,000 worth of purple fentanyl, crystal methamphetamine, and cocaine.
Police were trying to stop a vehicle in relation to the search for a wanted person around 2:30 p.m. on Friday when the vehicle sped away from officers. It was later located abandoned on Industrial Avenue.
A search turned up a quantity of purple fentanyl, crystal methamphetamine, cocaine, and other drug paraphernalia valued at $32,780. Officers also seized $2,333 in cash.
After a short foot chase, officers arrested an 18-year-old Waterloo man.
He is charged with eight offences including dangerous operation of a vehicle, flight from peace officer, operation while prohibited, possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and Failure to comply with probation order.
A 32-year-old Innerkip man was arrested on outstanding warrants.
