Charges have been laid against one person in connection with a Halloween party in Norwich Township that violated current COVID-19 gathering restrictions.

Oxford OPP were called about the large gathering on Quaker Street around 11:50 p.m. on Saturday. When officers arrived they found more than 25 people at the home.

Under current provincial public health measures aimed at slowing the spread of COVID-19, indoor gatherings are limited to ten and outdoor gatherings are capped at 25.

A 36-year-old is charged with failing to comply with an order under the Reopening Ontario Act. If convicted, the individual could face a $750 fine.
