Charges have been laid against a St. Thomas man accused of stealing parts of a local church organ to sell as scrap metal.
Organ pipes were stolen from the former Trinity Anglican Church on Wellington street last month.
St. Thomas police were able to identify a suspect in the case using surveillance video from a metal recycling business. The video showed a man selling metal that appeared to be the organ pipes, police said.
An arrest warrant was issued for a 49-year-old St. Thomas man on charges of possession of stolen property and trafficking stolen property.
The man turned himself into police on Thursday.
