London police are asking for help from the public in finding a 35-year-old woman wanted for allegedly stealing from elderly residents while posing as a cleaner or personal support worker.
Members of the London Police Service Financial Crime Unit said residents reported the fraud incidents between June 1 and November 5.
Police said Amanda Lee Rose Albert of London allegedly posed as someone meant to help elderly residents in order to steal debit cards, credit cards, and cash from inside the victims’ residences.
Officers said Albert was seen using the stolen debit and credit cards at several locations through video surveillance
Albert now faces a long list of charges which include:
- Three counts of break and enter and theft - Four counts of fraud under $5,000 - Four counts of possession of proceeds of property or thing not exceeding $5,000 obtained by crime - Four counts of use of credit card - Theft under $5,000 - Breach of probation - Four counts of failing to comply with release order
A warrant has been issued for her arrest. It's not the first time Albert has faced these types of accusations. She was charged after similar incident in September 2016, May 2018, and June 2018.
London police are reminding residents, especially those in the senior community, to take certain safety measures when allowing someone to enter one's home.
Charges against Albert have not been proven in court.
