Woman pulled from townhouse fire passes away

A woman who was critically injured in a townhouse fire in northeast London on the weekend has died.

London police said Tuesday that the 43-year-old woman died in hospital, while her two children are still in critical condition. The woman, her seven-year-old daughter, and five-year-old son were rushed to hospital Saturday after firefighters found them in their burning townhouse on Purser Street.

"Investigators continue to work with the Office of the Fire Marshal and the Office of the Chief Coroner to determine the cause and manner of death," police said in a news release issued Tuesday.

The Ontario Fire Marshal's Office is still investigating the cause of the fire.
