As it enters the final days of the campaign, the Business Cares Food Drive is in need of more donations.
The annual drive, which collects donations of food and money for the London Food Bank and other agencies, wraps up Tuesday. Chair Wayne Dunn says, with the London area still in the throes of the pandemic, the food bank is surely to need more supplies to meet the needs of those it helps.
Dunn says the food drive is looking for more support, but only from those who can afford to give it.
"Every year the generosity of the London community is inspiring. However, with Covid still upon us we are aware of the future increasing needs at the food bank over the coming winter months,” Dunn said. “If Londoners are looking to donate to the cause, we’d greatly appreciate the support -- but only if you’re able. We know this is a challenging time for many in our community, so we ask people to only give if they can and to the degree they’re comfortable.”
Donations of food or cash/cheques can be dropped off at the JMP Warehouse and Business Cares Headquarters at 1275 Hubrey Road. Cheques should be made out to "London and Area Food Bank/Business Cares." Donations may also be made online at businesscares.ca.
