One person pistol whipped during violent Parkhill assault

Four people are charged after a violent dispute in Parkhill over the weekend saw one person assaulted and threatened with a both a knife and a gun.

Middlesex OPP received reports of a fight involving six people on Main Street just before 8 a.m. on Sunday. Two of the people involved were alleged to have a knife and a pistol. As two people tried to leave the scene, one was assaulted and then hit in the head with the firearm, police said.

Four suspects took off in a grey vehicle, which police located a short time later. Officers tried to stop the vehicle but it kept on going. It was found a second time in London where it did end up stopping for police.

A Glock 17 pellet gun that was thrown from the vehicle was seized by police. As was a knife and an undisclosed quantity of illegal drugs, police said.

Three 18-year-olds, two from Central Elgin and one from London, and a 17-year-old from London were arrested.

They are charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, using an imitation firearm to commit an offence, and possession of a Schedule I Substance.

The 17-year-old also faces additional charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and flight from a peace officer.

All four remain in police custody and are schedule to make a court appearance on Tuesday.
