Londoners struggling with boredom during lockdown have a new way to occupy their time.
The City of London has launched a virtual recreation hub, called ConnectLDN.
The online resource offers a variety of activities, crafts, and fitness programs to engage, entertain and get those stuck at home moving.
“As we continue to face the ongoing pandemic, the health and well-being of our community remains our top priority,” Mayor Ed Holder said in a statement. “As we head into the winter months and continue to make adjustments to our typical activities, I know many Londoners are looking for new and creative ways to stay active and engaged from home. I hope Londoners can enjoy these new virtual programs and experiences now available through ConnectLDN together with their families.”
Among the activities featured on the recreation hub are locally curated children’s activities, seniors’ fitness classes, and virtual programs from the London Public Library and Museum London.
New content will be added to the site weekly, city officials said.
Londoners are encouraged to use the hashtag #ConnectLDN to share their participating on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
