A collision involving a vehicle and a horse south of Woodstock has left both the driver and the horse dead.
Emergency crews were called to the collision on Oxford County Road 13 between Norwich Road and Pleasant Valley Road around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday. Oxford OPP determined a horse was running loose on the road when it was hit by the vehicle.
The driver, Arthur Ridgewell, 64, of Norfolk County, was pronounced dead at the scene. The horse also died.
The section of Oxford County Road 13 is closed while police continue to investigate. There is no indication when it will re-open.
