London woman busted twice in two days for impaired driving

London police say a woman is facing several charges after two separate impaired driving investigations over the weekend.

At around 4 p.m. Friday, police were called to a crash involving a Toyota 4Runner at Dundas Street East and Crumlin Side Road. Officers arrested a female driver and say 0.8 grams of suspected Fentanyl was seized from her during a search.

A 35-year-old London woman was arrested and charged with impaired operation of a vehicle and possession of a schedule I substance. She was later released with a court date.

On Saturday night just before 9:30 p.m., a number of 911 calls were made about a Cadillac Escalade travelling southbound in the north lanes of Highbury Avenue near the 401 overpass. Witnesses told officers the SUV hit a median as well as another vehicle.

A female driver was located by police around 25 minutes later and was taken to hospital by paramedics with unknown injuries. Upon being discharged, police allege the woman assaulted two officers by kicking and spitting on them. Neither of the officers sustained any injuries.

Police say they identified the woman as the same one involved in Friday afternoon's crash. As a result, she faces additional charges including impaired operation of a vehicle, dangerous driving, failure to comply with a demand made by an officer, and two counts of assaulting an officer.

Damages for both incidents are estimated at $65,000, the accused is scheduled to appear in court on April 12.
