London Chamber of Commerce names new CEO

The London Chamber of Commerce has a new man at the helm.

Graham Henderson was announced as the new CEO by the group's Board of Directors on Thursday.

“Graham brings both extensive experience and a track record of success in not-for-profit, member driven organizations and knows the Chamber Network well, having served on the Ontario Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors as the Chair and the Treasurer with an overall tenure of 12 years," Board President Vijai Lakshmikanthan said in a statement. "Graham is very focused on equity, diversity, and inclusion, having made great strides in his career to create policies and make necessary changes in all organizations he’s been involved with.”

Henderson has spent the last 15 years as CEO of Music Canada and Connect Music Licensing. He was selected to be the new voice of London's business community following an "extensive" recruitment effort by the board. He replaces longtime head of the Chamber Gerry McCartney, who retired at the end of last month.

"London has always occupied a special place in my heart - I love it” said Henderson. “During my decade of service on the Board of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, it was abundantly clear to me that the London Chamber was the gold standard. When the opportunity presented itself to be part of this incredible team, I leapt at it."

Henderson officially takes over as CEO on March 22.

He plans to settle into the role by reaching out to Chamber members and community partners.
