Provincial police in West Elgin county say they are investigating the cause of a fire in West Lorne on Wednesday morning.
Emergency crews were called to an apartment that was fully ablaze above a business on Graham Road around 7 a.m. On Thursday morning, investigators were able to enter the unit when they discovered human remains. A post-mortem of the body will be conducted to positively determine the cause of death.
According to the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal, the investigation is in the early stages.
