Police in London are continuing to investigate a dramatic theft at a car dealership on Oxford Road earlier this month.
On March 3, the suspect showed up to the car lot at Sport Motors Auto Sales just before 6 p.m. and inquired about a 2018 BMW.
An employee started the car and the suspect entered the driver’s seat.
The suspect then allegedly put the vehicle in gear and accelerated in the direction of the employee, who jumped onto the hood of the car as the suspect drove out of the lot and eastbound on Oxford Street East. The employee held onto the vehicle as the suspect approached Highbury Avenue, at which point he slid off the hood and onto the roadway.
Video of the incident can be seen below.
In an update on Tuesday, London police said the stolen vehicle was observed in the area of the eastbound Woodstock ONRoute on Highway 401 around 6:20 p.m. on March 3.
Investigators are asking for dash-cam video from anyone who may have been in the area of the ONRoute around the time of the possible sighting.
The suspect in the incident is described as a male with dark skin and a thin build, about 5′ 8″, 140 lbs, black puffy hair and a black beard. He was wearing a black mask, a navy blue suit, with a white dress shirt with dots.
