A St. Thomas man is facing a pair of charges after allegedly threatening a police officer on Saturday evening.
According to St. Thomas police, an officer on general patrol was conducting an investigation on Talbot Street near Alma Street around 7:30 p.m.
When the officer went back to their police cruiser, they located a man who had parked his vehicle alongside the police vehicle, which made it difficult for the officer to enter the cruiser.
The officer tried to talk to the man, who was not cooperating. He then got out of his vehicle and allegedly started threatening to hit the officer with a brick.
The suspect returned back to his vehicle and fled the area. When the officer tried to conduct a traffic stop to arrest the man for the threats, he allegedly failed to stop.
The vehicle was not pursued and the man was located a short distance away in a parking lot and arrested without incident.
As a result, a 25-year-old from St. Thomas is charged with one count of threats and one count of failing to stop for police.
