Teen dies after being mauled by dogs

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have released more details regarding a death in southwest Middlesex.

On Thursday, Middlesex County OPP and fire services, along with Oneida Nation Paramedic Services and an air ambulance arrived at a property on Gentleman Drive just before 2:30 p.m., where a person was found deceased.

Megan Fisher, 17, from Chippewas of the Thames First Nation was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy conducted Friday has now determined the victim died as a result of injuries sustained from an attack by three dogs on the property. The dogs are currently in a shelter under a public health quarantine order.

The investigation is still ongoing at this time and is now under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
