Provincial police are now classifying a death in Delhi as a homicide.
On March 30, Norfolk County OPP announced that they were investigating a suspicious death after a man was found dead at a King Street West address.
On Saturday, police confirmed that the death was now considered a homicide.
The deceased has been identified as 54-year-old Michael Shawn Murray of Norfolk County.
The victim was transported to the Office of the Chief Coroner of Ontario in Toronto for a post-mortem examination, which determined that the cause of death was the result of a homicide.
"Investigators are asking all homeowners and community residents in the Delhi area to check their properties for any items of clothing or carrying packs, such as a backpack," OPP said in a media release. "Police are also asking homeowners to check outdoor home surveillance cameras for video footage that may assist with this investigation."
OPP are also using the incident as a reminder for members of the public to be aware of their personal safety at all times.
