London police are investigating after two more shooting incidents in the city, the 11th and 12th so far this year.
According to London police, a man showed up to hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. It was around 11:15 p.m. on Wednesday when the injured 20-year-old man walked into the hospital. The man's condition has been described as "serious, but non-life-threatening."
He continues to recover in hospital, police said on Thursday.
At this point there is no indication where the shooting took place and no description of a suspect.
The major crime section is in the early stages of its investigation and is asking anyone with information to call police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
Roughly an hour after the man arrived at hospital, gunshots were heard outside of a home on Blue Forest Place, north of Sarnia Road in an unrelated incident.
Police arrived to find damage to the home, but the exact cause of the damage isn't yet known.
There were several people inside at the time the shots rang out. No injuries were reported.
Investigators do not believe this was a random incident.
Gun violence in the city has dramatically increased since the start of the year. So much so, the London Police Service launched a new task force made up of investigators, crime analysts, and other specialists, last month to address the rise. There have been around a dozen incidents involving gunfire in London so far in 2021. That is up from 14 in all of 2020.
