London police say a man faces nearly a dozen charges after allegedly being seen carrying a loaded gun.
Just before 5 p.m. Saturday, police observed a male walk by a marked cruiser in the area of Hackett and Sackville streets with what looked like a shotgun in his hand, hidden under his clothing.
The officer called out to the man and directed him to place the weapon on the ground. The suspect followed the officer's demands before fleeing westbound through a parking lot on Hamilton Road near Egerton Street.
According to police, the suspect continued to resist arrest until the officer could call for assistance. He was arrested a short time later.
During a search of the man, police seized a loaded 20-gauge shotgun with the serial number removed and barrel and butt of the gun modified, a loaded prohibited magazine, ammunition, a prohibited knife and a replica firearm.
The 42-year-old London man faces 11 charges including two counts of carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a loaded firearm.
He was scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
