Man killed in single-vehicle crash north of Embro

A single-vehicle crash north of Embro has claimed the life of a 36-year-old Cambridge man.

Emergency crews were called to the 37th Line between Road 92 and Road 88 just before 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday after a southbound vehicle went off the road and hit a tree.

The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle had to be cut from the wreckage. He was rushed to hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Oxford OPP identified the driver on Wednesday morning as Stephen Davey, 36, of Cambridge.

The road was closed for more than five hours as police investigated the cause of the crash. It was reopened around midnight.
