Ontario's police watchdog has been called to investigate an incident after an individual was hurt during an altercation with St. Thomas police.
At around 3 p.m. Tuesday, a St. Thomas police officer was in his cruiser on Elm Street when he saw a 37-year-old man on a bike. The man was wanted on a warrant, so the officer tried to get his attention. But in the area of Elm Street and Hepburn Avenue, the cruiser and the bicycle collided. The man on the bike was taken to hospital for treatment of a serious injury.
Three investigators and two forensic investigators have been assigned to the case.
