Number of new COVID-19 cases remains low in London-Middlesex

New COVID-19 cases have remained below 10 in London and Middlesex County for the third straight day.

The Middlesex-London Health Unit said on Sunday that only seven new cases had been detected in the last 24 hours. The health unit logged six new cases on Saturday and eight on Friday.

The total number of cases reported in the region since the start of the pandemic is now 12,502. A total of 223 people have died in the region due to complications involving COVID-19.

As of Friday, the London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) had a total of 15 COVID-19 inpatients. Of those, nine are listed in intensive care.

Early this week it was reported that 72 per cent of all adults in London-Middlesex have received their first COVID-19 vaccination and 8.9 per cent have received both doses.
